Posted Match Schedule Policy

1) All Michigan Rugby Union clubs must submit their schedule to the Union Secretary and post on the MIRRS website a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the start of the spring or fall season. If a club fails to submit a schedule to the Union and/or post on the MIRRS website with complete, accurate information, MIRRS has the discretionary authority to refuse to assign a referee. The league schedule will be posted to the Union Website by the league coordinator prior to the start of the fall season. It is still the responsibility of each club to post their own schedule at all times. Each club must maintain accurate information on the MIRRS site www.mirrs.org or risk referee assignments.

2) All matches, including start time and pitch location, must be confirmed and finalized by the home club with the opposing club and the assigned referee 3 days prior to the scheduled match AT THE LATEST.

3) Both clubs and the assigned referee must agree upon any changes to the posted schedule, including start time and pitch location, by the Wednesday prior to the match. If the changes are not communicated to MIRRS or the assigned referee by the Wednesday preceding the match, then MIRRS has the discretionary authority to refuse to assign a referee.

4) If either club makes a request for a change and the opposing club cannot accommodate that change and no compromise can be reached, then the match will constitute a forfeit by the club requesting the change.

5) If the stated policy is violated, fines may be assessed at the discretion of the disciplinary chair depending on the severity and frequency of the violations. Fines may include reimbursement of any out of pocket expenses claimed by the club that is inconvenienced by the match being cancelled due to violation of the game schedule policy.

If you have any questions or concerns about the above-stated policy, please contact either Kevin Wornham, MiRFU President, by email president@mirfu.org
